The biggest event in club football will happen at the iconic Wembley stadium this Sunday where fourteen time winners Real Madrid will take on the underdogs Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final. The tournament so far has been full of drama and entertainment and the final shouldn’t be any less.

Legends say their final goodbyes after the UCL Final

Right after qualifying for the finals, Dortmund announced that club legend Marco Reus will leave the club after 12 years. A UCL trophy would be a perfect way to say goodbye however Real Madrid are also hunting for a farewell. Toni Kroos has announced his retirement from professional football meaning that the final will be his last game for Real Madrid. Ending his career with a 6th Champions League title would be some way to go. Club captain Nacho’s future is uncertain while Luka Modric is likely to stay.

Real Madrid’s goalkeeper situation

Before the season started Real Madrid were hit with a massive blow as Thibaut Courtois suffered an ACL tear. Andriy Lunin took over before Los Blancos signed Kepa Arrizabalaga. When Kepa picked up an injury Lunin came back in and put in some incredible performances to cement his place. Now that Courtois is back and fit to play Carlo Ancelotti has a tough call to make. Lunin has proven himself more than capable but Courtois is not just another goalkeeper. The Belgian can win matches single handedly which makes it a very tough call.

Real Madrid are heavy favorites going into the match but Dortmund have reached the finals against all odds. The German side could pull off something incredible to shock Los Blancos. As far as injuries are concerned Real Madrid are missing a key player in Aurelien Tchuameni. Eder Militao in recent matches has shown lack of match fitness which means Nacho is likely to partner Antonio Rudiger. Dortmund on the other hand has a fully fit squad available.
