The Champions League quarter finals as usual didn’t disappoint with four incredible fixtures. All the games were very entertaining and closely fought which is the beauty of this competition. In the end, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSG, and Borussia Dortmund booked their place in the last four. The first legs will be played on 30th April and 1st May with the return legs scheduled exactly a week later.

Familiar foes Real Madrid and Bayern Munich meet again

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich have been a part of some of the most famous Champions League fixtures of all time and now they will meet again for the first time since 2018. Real Madrid have won the last 3 ties against the Bavarian side and it has to be said that this time around they will be favorites again. The battle between Antonio Rudiger and Harry Kane will be one to keep an eye on across both legs. The one thing in Bayern’s favor is that UCL is the competition they are in contention for while Los Blancos will also have La Liga to take care of. Regardless, it promises to be an incredible contest.

PSG’s long lasting search for European glory continues

Paris Saint German and Borussa Dortmund during a game

Paris Saint Germain have been European heavyweights for a long time now. However, despite spending a lot of money to sign some world class players, the UCL trophy still eludes them. They have another opportunity to make the final for only the second time as they take on Borussia Dortmund. The German giants have had a very below par domestic season. A UCL final will definitely be something which could rescue their campaign. It may also be one of the last chances for club legend and captain Marco Reus to win the illustrious trophy. The last time these two clubs faced off in the knockout stage was in 2020 which PSG won. The tie became infamous for Erling Halaand’s yoga celebration and PSG’s mocking response. Neither team is in a domestic title race as such which means that both teams will be fully focused on the tie.
