The season’s penultimate match is here, as Kolkata Knight Riders take on Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final of IPL 2024 at Chepauk in Chennai. In this season’s ultimate match, two teams with exceptional performances throughout the season go head-to-head to emerge victorious.
KKR has been the table topper for the best part of the season. They were quick off the blocks and became the first team to qualify for the Playoffs this season.
SRH, on the other hand, didn’t have the best start to the season. They lost two of their first three games. However, once they found their winning combination, there was no stopping them.
Both teams have already met in the first qualifier, where SRH was trounced by KKR. It was a one-sided encounter, and Pat Cummins and his orange army posed no challenge to the boys from Bengal. In spite of the two teams’ reputations for posting big totals, the match was a low-scoring affair, and SRH could only post 160 for KKR to chase in just 13.4 overs.
But now Hyderabad has a chance at redemption in Chennai.
IPL Finals – Dates, Venues, and How to Watch
KKR will face off against SRH in the final of the IPL 2024, which will be played on 26 May in the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The game will be telecast on the Star Sports network (Television) and Jio Cinema (Online).
Players to watch out for in IPL 2024
All eyes will be set on the dynamic opening duos of the respective teams. Firstly, we have Sunil Narine and Gurbaz of KKR. Narine has been in red-hot form this season. However, he has not played enough with Gurbaz. Still, they turned out to be a formidable duo in Ahmedabad.
Secondly, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have caused enough carnage throughout the season for everyone to consider them a threat. Despite failures in the last few games, they will be expected to go big in the season’s final game.
Lastly, Mitchell Starc will also come into the game with great expectations. He, too, was breathing fire with the ball in hand and has been in sparkling form towards the rear end of the tournament. His compatriot and captain of SRH, Pat Cummin, is expected to outfox the batters with his great bowling skills as well.
Both teams have scored in excess of 250 runs in an inning this year. SRH two broke the record for most runs in an inning, while KKR also came very close to doing the same. In short, it is going to be a riveting encounter, one you cannot afford to miss at any cost.
