The 2024 Copa America Semi-Finals are here, notably without the host nation for the first time, the USA. Argentina’s path to the championship looks clear as the 2021 runners-up Brazil are out of the tournament. Colombia, fresh off a 5-0 win over Panama, are looking formidable behind the winger James Rodriguez who has been insanely good at destroying the opponents. Lastly, Uruguay is brimming with confidence after upsetting the Brazilian roster with a 10-man squad.

Teams to qualify for the Semi-Finals of Copa America 2024

• Argentina vs Canada – Semi-Final 1
• Colombia vs Uruguay – Semi-Final 2

Once again, Argentina are the favorites to clinch the Copa America trophy. They are coming off beating Ecuador in a close encounter in the quarter-finals, continuing their streak of winning the quarter-finals since 2011. The matchup against Ecuador was considered as a piece of cake for the current Copa America and World Cup champions but didn’t go the way predicted. After a 1-1 draw in the regular time, Argentina had to rely on penalties thanks to the goalkeeper Emi Martinez who made two crucial saves and served a 4-2 victory to the team.

On the other hand, Canada beats Venezuela on penalties securing their semifinal spot. Canadian goalkeeper Maxime Crepeau dismantled Wilker Crepeau’s effort, sealing a 4-3 victory for the team. Now, the Canucks will face the Messi-led Argentina in the first semi-final. Argentina are the big favorites for this matchup, reason being their dominant performances throughout the tournament. They had already faced Canada during the early stages of the tournament which saw the defending champions run out 2-0 winners at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on June 20. A replica of the past performance is expected from the team.

So far, Argentina’s run has been impeccable. They defeated Canada 2-0, Chile 1-0, Peru 2-0, and lastly Ecuador, even with an injured Messi. 

One of the most one-sided quarter-finals anticipated was Colombia vs. Panama. The ferocious Colombian team stood out as a clear winner, overpowering Panama in a 5-0 victory advancing their winning streak to 26 games. The whole Colombian roster sparked differently in the tournament, not only were they undefeatable but also are the most likely team to give a tough fight against the defending champions, Argentina. The team excels in defense and is just a complete team.

Uruguay, after a scoreless 90 minutes and extra time, eliminated the tournament favorites Brazil with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. This win secured their last semifinal spot.

Copa America 2024 Semi-Finals and Final: Date, Time, and Venue 

The first semi-final will be played between Argentina and Canada at East Rutherford on July 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET or 5:30 a.m. IST.

The second semi-final clash between Uruguay and Colombia is scheduled for July 10 at 9:00 p.m. ET or 5:30 a.m. IST in Charlotte.

The tournament will culminate on July 11 at Miami Gardens, where the semi-final winners will then battle for the prestigious 2024 Copa America trophy.
