Euro 2024, one of the most anticipated football tournaments of the year, is finally here. It will be back after three years for the 17th edition, which kicks off in Germany on June 14th. The tournament, which is usually held every four years, will bring together the 24 biggest footballing nations in Europe.
Italy will undoubtedly be in the spotlight as they begin their title defence. They were champions in 2021 when they defeated England on penalties. The Azzurri, known for their tactical prowess and defensive solidity, will undoubtedly be a team to beat. However, the road to retaining the title won’t be smooth.
There are several title challengers in this tournament, Germany, the host nation, being one of them. They have perhaps one of the most organised midfields that can get better of any defence. Spain will also consider themselves favorites; with their young brigade, they can take down any giant. Last but not least, England will certainly be seeking redemption from the 2021 Final.
Euro 2024: Date, Time, and Venues
The opening encounter of this marquee tournament between Germany and Scotland will take place on 14 June for the whole of Europe. However, the game will be broadcast in India on June 15th at 12.30 PM IST (9 pm local/19:00 GMT).
Ten cities in Germany have been chosen to host the tournament: Berlin, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Munich, Leipzig, and Stuttgart.

Players to watch out at Euro 2024

Another name has to be Harry Kane of England. The player has established himself as a top striker among the current players. Furthermore, he coming off a great season for Bayern Munich with 44 goals in 45 games. With the captain’s armband, he hopes to secure the first International title of his career.
No European tournament can ever happen without acknowledging the greatest of them all: Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese might be in his late thirties, but he has not lost his guile as he piles up goals in the Saudi League. Moreover, he is still the top goal scorer in football with 895 senior career goals for club and country.
